Eddy current testing is one of the most important methods in non-destructive testing (NDT) for electrically conductive materials. It enables the reliable detection of surface and near-surface defects as well as the analysis of material properties – quickly, contact-free and with high precision.

The FOERSTER Technology Day “Eddy Current” introduces the physical principles of this testing method and demonstrates, using real industrial applications, how inspection signals are generated, which factors influence signal response and how defect indications can be reliably interpreted.

Registration deadline: 15 August 2026

How are inspection signals generated in eddy current testing and what do they reveal about materials and defects? The Eddy Current Technology Day explains how electromagnetic induction is used to detect surface and near-surface defects and how the method is applied in industrial inspection processes.

Goal of the Technology Day

The goal of this technology day is to provide a solid understanding of the physical principles of eddy current testing and the generation and interpretation of inspection signals. Participants will learn which material-, geometry- and process-related factors influence signal response and how defect indications can be evaluated in real inspection scenarios.

Target Audience

This Technology Day “Eddy Current” is aimed at inspection engineers, quality managers, operators and technical decision-makers who want to build a deeper understanding of eddy current testing or expand their existing knowledge of this inspection method.

Schedule

09:00 – 12:00 Fundamentals and technology overview
12:00 – 13:00 Lunch at the NUBIS company restaurant
13:00 – 16:00 Practical applications and demonstrations
16:00 – 19:00 Open networking and get-together
