About FOERSTER Instruments (USA)

Since 1978, FOERSTER Instruments has been the U.S. home of a company that has been making the hidden visible since 1948. As the American subsidiary of the FOERSTER Group, we bring precision non-destructive testing, detection, and magnetic field measurement technology to manufacturers across the country — headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with additional locations in Ohio, Texas, South Carolina, and Alabama.

Our systems, sensors, and services support customers wherever safety, precision, and process reliability matter most, including automotive components, aerospace parts, and metal manufacturing. Using eddy current, magnetic field analysis, ultrasound, and sensor technologies refined over more than seven decades, we help customers identify defects before they become failures.

As part of an independent, family-owned technology company, we work for the long term. That means close partnership at every stage — initial analysis, system integration, training, and ongoing service. Our mission is the same on both sides of the Atlantic: reliable inspection processes, informed decision-making, and measurable quality, every day.

A Legacy of Precision. A Future of Innovation.

FOERSTER combines deep engineering expertise with a profound understanding of industrial testing processes. Using eddy current, magnetic field analysis, ultrasound, thermography, and highly sensitive sensor technology, we deliver solutions for demanding sectors – including metal production, automotive, aerospace, medical technology, petrochemicals, energy, research, and archaeology.

Our portfolio ranges from handheld instruments to fully integrated inspection lines for serial production and safety-critical components. At the core of our technologies are our sensors: precise, robust, and often handcrafted, enabling sensitivity and repeatability that set international standards.

We support our customers throughout the entire lifecycle – from initial analysis and feasibility studies to co-development, system integration, training, global service, and long-term support. Our mission: reliable inspection processes, maximum operational safety, informed decision-making, and measurable quality – every single day.
